Every year,around 3000 tons steel casting for the mould.
The mould will be used for pipe production.
The customers are from Russia,such as OMK.
We had visited Chelyabinsk and have good relationship with our customers.
Quality test method of large steel casting
There are five main steps of inspection and testings to guarantee the quality of large steel castings:dimension accuracy, chemical composition,mechanical property,ultrasonic test and magnetic powder inspection.
Dimension accuracy
Visual inspection
Based on the human eyes,an experienced surveyor can identify the outside and inside surface defects,molding errors and improper filling of the large steel castings.
The sand holes,exceeding rough surface in blank,surface shrinkage,misruns and blowholes can be detected through visual inspection.
There would be three times dimension tests.The dimension test after casting in blank,in rough and finished machining.
To guarantee the dimension of large steel castings can meet customers' requirement and tolerance,a coordinate measuring machine(CMM) and a electronic total station can help us to check the dimensional accuracy.
The tools can speed up the dimension inspection process and reveal more professional test result.
Chemical composition
The chemical composition has a significant influence on the mechanical property and can be further affected through change of the minor alloying elements.Depending on how susceptible an alloy is to variation of its chemical composition, chemical analysis may be required to verify the proper composition is present to achieve a certain set of properties.
The scrap will be tested and stored according to the chemical composition.
There will be a record before and after pouring.
There are two direct-reading spectrometers(FOUNDRY-MASER PRO,OXFORD INSTRUMENTS) which are imported from German.
The testing equipment will be calibrated annually.
Mechanical property
Mechanical test result shows an evaluation of the metal according to customers' requirement.
Following is the test which is used in mechanical property.
Tensile strength-conducted upon the test specimens of standard size(Φ=14mm,gauge=70mm).Tensile testing tests the ultimate tensile strength, yield strength, elongation,reduction of area and impact.
The laboratory has universal tensile testing machining,impact tester,durometer and so on.
Hardness testing-when the material asks for a HB requirement, a HB test will be done.Normally there would be three points to be grinding into shining and smooth surface.One point will be test three times and totally nine points test result.The test result difference among the three points should not be more than 20.An average value will be calculated according to nine points.
Ultrasonic test
Ultrasonic test gives an guarantee of the inside quality of the large steel castings.
A qualified UT tester will do the test with normal probe according to customers' UT level.
The sound can detect the internal defects of the large carbon steel and alloy steel castings.Sound waves will change according to the internal structure.During UT process,the high frequency acoustic energy is transmitted into the casting.It travels via the casting until it hits the opposite surface,interface or defects.The interface or defects reflect portions of the energy which are collected and displayed on the test machine(the depth,width and thickness).

Haian Haitai Casting Co., Ltd is a private company which is located in Sunzhuang Town, Haian County, Jiangsu Province. With convenient transportation, it is only 3 kilometers away from S28 highway west exit of Haian and 2.5 hours away from Shanghai and Nanjing airport.
It covers an area of 99, 800 square meters with building area 53, 600 square meters. Haitai has three casting workshops and one processing workshop. The main products are steel castings with qualitative carbon and low alloy steel.
It includes cement machinery: Support roller, tyre, half gear, bearing housing and so on; Marine machinery: Fore/after boss casting, upper/lower rudder carrier, bell mouth, stern stub, rudder horn and so on; Petroleum machinery: Bop shell, head cover, cylinder cover and so on; Rolling mill: Mill housing.
Now the annual production capacity is 50, 000 tons and maximum unit weight can be 150 tons with the sodium silicate sand and CO2 hardening technology. The main equipment includes: One set 8 tons electrical arc furnace (max. Melting steel is 28 tons), two sets of 50 tons medium frequency furnace, two sets of 120 tons refining furnace, two 200T travel cranes and four 150 tons travel cranes, 12 sets of vertical lathe from 2.5m to 8.5m, 8 sets of 6130-6290 boring and milling machine.

Direct-reading spectrometer imported from German, ultrasonic defect detector, magnetic flaw detector, durometer, universal tensile testing machine, impact tester, metallographic analyzer for UT, MT, chemical composition, metallographic structure, mechanical properties test and so on.
