It was said from deputies that a Corvallis man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of stealing power tools and selling them on Craigslist.Linn County Sheriff's Detective Captain Paul Timm said 59-year-old Daniel Gill is facing two counts of second-degree burglary and a charge of a felon in possession of a firearm. The charges stem from a series of break-ins at the Good Earth Pest Company, located at 29030 Highway 34. Timm said the store was burglarized three times in five months.About $3,000 worth of power tools were stolen in two of the burglaries. On Wednesday, deputies learned the shop's owner found merchandise she believed was stolen posted for sale on Craigslist.Detectives arranged to purchase one of the stolen tools and met the seller at a mobile home located on Highway 34 near the break-ins, Timm said.Sheriff's deputies said they bought a Milwaukee Sawzall, which was later confirmed to be stolen.Investigators then searched the mobile home and found several more power tools and five firearms, Timm said.Gill was arrested and taken to the Linn County Jail.Rene Kesecker, owner of the Good Earth Pest Company, said she's on edge after the break-ins."We can replace the tools, but you can't replace the sense of security that you lose and the peace of mind that you can step away from your place of business and go home at night," Kesecker said.
