Silicone Bushing Definition Silicone Bushing, serving as a vibration isolator, is also known as rubber bushing, silicone damper, silicone washer, etc, which is mostly applied in mechanical moving parts, valve, shaft, medical devices, auto industry. And it provides an interface between two parts, damps the energy transmitted, absorbs shock & vibration and reduce noise.
Silicone Bushing Function Silicone bushing can be replaced very conveniently if it worn out. Otherwise, you have to replace the whole part once abrasion. Now, people tend to replace the bushing (while designing, the hardness of bushing can be reduced to be a bearing grinding of friction pair) due to its convenient processing, low replacement cost and easy replacement, of course, also including other secondary functions, like guiding function, and etc.
Silicone bushing occupies a prominent place in vehicle suspension systems, where a bushing made of rubber (or, more often, synthetic rubber or polyurethane) separates the faces of two metal objects meanwhile allowing a certain amount of movement. This movement allows the suspension parts to move freely. For example, when the vehicle travels over a large bump, the transmission of noise and vibrations from the chassis can be minimized. Therefore, a silicone bushing may also be described as a flexible mounting or antivibration mounting.
